one more day in hong kong.

whats up everyone? well another day has begun here hong kong. it is 4pm on sunday in idaho. just thinking about everyone and what they might be doing at 4 in the afternoon, while i type this at 6am hk time.
yesterday was a blast, we lucked out again with weather, it was still hot and muggy but didn't rain. looks like today we will have the rain. we didn't have any clue on what we were going to do so after breakfast we decide to head way out of town on the metro to the island of lantau. it cost us about 3 bucks to ride out there. the scenery was great. anyhow we wanted to go see the worlds biggest Buddha statue. saw it on tv, so it looked like it would be cool to see. also on this island in disneyland hong kong, it has been open for 3 years now. they even built their own metro line out to it, mickey mouse is everywhere here. so we got to the end of the metro line, and took a 45 min. bus ride through the mountains on narrow roads that seemed to all but torn up with construction. the drivers here are crazy coming within inches of other cars and buses. so Buddha was great. hiked up the all the stairs to the top, drenched in sweat. i have to thank samantha at the gym for telling me to hit the treadmill and stairmaster to prepare me for all the walking and hiking up endless amounts of stairs.
after we headed back into the city, we went to soho, the massive restaurant area off the 800 meters of escalators that head up a hill. we at italian food at fat angelos. it was great. after that we called our cousin jonna who lives here in hk with her family. they just got back from summer vacation in the states. we went to their house last night to see jonna, rich, and the girls. we had a blast, it was great to see them. their apt. looks over repulse bay which is an amazing view and very nice location. after we left, got back on the bus to head back to the metro station to go to the hotel. we were exhausted. so here are some pictures for you all to see. we are going to a couple of markets today it should be fun. talk to you later.

outside right now of our hotel

holding a cute little Buddha, the locals were laughing at us when we were doing this, it reminded me of the leaning tower of pisa
